As no other fucker would go, I took the missus to a midweek game at Newcastle where we lost 5-0.
She basically hasn't got a clue about football and just wanted a weekend away, but even she noticed him.

Top player and had his best years for us. Shame about the way he left, took a bit of the gloss off it. But we didn't help ourselves by finishing bottom of the league.

Good player. Enjoyed his commitment to the cause, and the only game I remember him getting bossed around in was by Yaya Toure when we played Man City. He put in a shift every time he played.

He may be a Spurs fan at heart, but as footballer he was one of the best English players of his generation, and always put in a shift for ALL the clubs he played for.
And the fact he was HOTY 3 times and PFA player of the year says it all.
